Kernerators, incineration units were often used on forest lands, and contained in large mason structures. Today, only one remains on the Arapaho Roosevelt National Forest.
Spring houses built by the CCC in the 1930s provided cold water to thirsty travelers. Most of these structures built along the roadway have long disappeared except for a single spring house located in Idaho Springs on Road 103.
The Echo Lake Shelter, first built in 1937, remains as a public use site in Echo Lake Campground. A new roof and mason work repaired it for use with HistoriCorp in 2013.
