417. Dos Chappel Nature Center on Mount Goliath

The Dos Chappell Nature Center is situated on the edge of the natural area. Completed in 2003, it contains exhibits that interpret the remarkable life that thrives in the sub-alpine and alpine. Visitors are encouraged to observe what they have learned in the Dos Chappell Nature Center by walking around the surrounding rock gardens and visiting the summit. Outside you will find Bristlecone Pine trees 900 to 2,000 years old and an alpine garden. The building, exhibits and grounds are the result of a cooperative effort between the Denver Botanic Gardens, Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado, and the U.S. Forest Service. Forest Service interpreters and volunteers staff the area and are available to provide information and programs and answer questions.
