North Tour of Roosevelt National Forest

This portion of the Roosevelt National Forest is located  in northern Colorado, where the Canyon Lakes Ranger District encompasses 650,022 acres, west of Fort Collins and including Estes Park and the  Redfeather Lakes area. This area offers a variety of recreation opportunities throughout the year, and also provides for traditional uses, such as permits for firewood gathering and grazing. This area includes four wilderness areas, three national recreation trails, two historic districts, and Colorado’s only Wild and Scenic River. State Highways 34, 36 and 14 allow for easy access to many hiking trails, campgrounds, four-wheel drive roads, and lakes and streams.

You can also use the map feature to search other tour messages in the area. Tour stop signs at individual stops are highlighted red to indicate if cell or wireless service is available. For stops without current service, information will be linked at highlighted stops and can be viewed ahead of time.
