532. Redfeather Ranger Station & Visitor Center

A great place to stop and get a little sense of history and some great current information is the Redfeather Ranger Station and Visitor Center. Volunteers staff this site from Memorial Day through Labor Day, typically Fridays through Mondays. This visitor center on the east edge of Red Feather Lakes was built by the Civilian Conservation Corps between 1937 and 1939. This district office was eventually combined with the Estes-Poudre Ranger District to form the Canyon Lakes Ranger District we have today.  This site also often serves as home base for fire and recreation crews during the summer.
