512. Arrowhead Visitor Center

As you travel up the Poudre Canyon, you can stop about 34 miles from the entrance at Arrowhead Lodge to learn the latest about the area daily during the summer months. Arrowhead Lodge was originally built as a summer mountain resort, with construction beginning in 1933 and opening for the public in 1935. The Forest Service obtained the land and structures in 1984 during a land exchange. Volunteers staff the Lodge, answering questions and selling maps and passes from Memorial Day through Labor Day.  This is also a great spot to look for bighorn sheep!
