Red Rock and Brainard Lake offer spectacular panoramic views of the lakes, surrounding forest, and high peaks along the Continental Divide. Fisherman can try their luck at catching rainbow, brook and brown trout. Both lakes are stocked by Colorado Parks & Wildlife.

On the south side of the road just beyond the Brainard Gateway Trailhead is a four-wheel drive road leading to Lefthand Park Reservoir. This is a large lake of 100 acres. This lake sits higher than Brainard at 10,600 feet and views of the surrounding area are spectacular. If you do not have a four-wheel drive high clearance vehicle, park at the Brainard Gateway Trailhead. A 1.5 mile mountain bike or hike will take you to this lake.

This 6.5 acre Red Rock Lake is located 1/2 mile west of the Brainard Gateway at 10,300 feet. Stop here for a chance of seeing moose and take a pleasant hike around the lake for picturesque vistas.

Located two miles west of the Brainard Gateway, Brainard Lake sits at 10,350 feet and is 13.5 acres. Non-motorized boats are welcome. A paved boat launch area is adjacent to the south side of the bridge for non-motorized boating access and 11 vehicle parking spaces.

Fishing is regulated by Colorado Parks & Wildlife. Visit their fishing page by using the link below.
