Sculpted by glaciers, Mount Craig, nicknamed “Mount Baldy,” looms above Grand Lake, Colorado’s largest and deepest natural lake. Grand Lake was created by glacial activity. The pier that extends into Grand Lake is a popular spot for taking photos of the lake and the towering Mt. Baldy. Interpretive signs explain the impacts of human history, the Colorado River and the Colorado Big-Thompson Water project on the land and Grand Lake.
